The Health Tree Foundation The Health Tree Foundation

As temperatures soar can you become a fan of your hospital charity?

The Health Tree Foundation – the charity for your local hospital - is calling for the public to get behind its latest appeal.

The Health Tree Foundation is the official charity for Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust covering Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital.

It has been inundated with requests from wards to provide fans as the country basks in sunshine and high temperatures.

Today the charity delivered fans to the stroke unit at Grimsby’s Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital following a wish to the charity made by hospital support assistant Lorna Pasmore.

Lorna said: “The hospital is a warm environment throughout the year but in the peak of summer it can become unbearable for many. We try our upmost to keep our areas cool and provide patients with chilled water. The fans are a great addition.”

The charity is urging people to back an online campaign by donating  £10 towards the cost of more fans.

Partnerships manager for the Health Tree Foundation Victoria Winterton said “This is a great way to say a big thank you to our incredibly had working teams across the Trust and enable them to provide an even more comfortable stay for patients.

“We are looking for people across the community to back this campaign. We are regularly blown away by the generosity of our community in support of their hospital, but this time we are hoping to be literally blown away!”

People can donate to the campaign by visiting https://campaign.justgiving.com/charity/nlagcharitablefunds/healthtreefans  or text FANS30 to 70070, you can also send donations to The Health Tree Foundation, Fan Appeal at either Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital or Goole and District Hospital.
