Patients benefit from fan-tastic appeal

Thanks to the generosity of local people the Health Tree Foundation was able to purchase 70 fans for patients in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole hospitals.

Victoria Winterton, partnerships manager for The Health Tree Foundation, said: “We are so grateful to the local community for getting behind this appeal. Your generosity has enabled us to bring some relief to patients during the recent hot weather and helped make their stay more comfortable.”

Hospital support assistant Lorna Pasmore, who works on the stroke unit at Grimsby hospital, came up with the idea for the fans and put in a wish to the charity.

Lorna said: “The hospital is a warm environment throughout the year but in the peak of summer it can become unbearable for many. We try our upmost to keep our areas cool and provide patients with chilled water. The fans are a great addition.”
