Top footy prizes up for grabs in fundraiser for babies

Global Logistics Football Club are organising a charity football match to raise money for the neonatal intensive care unit at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.

The match will kick off at 12pm on Sunday July 17 from Bradley Development Playing Fields, Grimsby. The club would like to welcome people to come down and support the team.

Following the match there will be a raffle and food provided at the Honest Lawyer in Ladysmith Road.

All players have raised money from individual sponsorship to play in the event.

Prizes up for grabs in the raffle include a signed Manchester United ball which includes the signature of Wayne Rooney and other big club names. Tickets for Manchester United and Manchester City games are also in the mix.

Ryan Ives, one of the club organisers, said: “This is a good chance to support an excellent team who help to look after the youngest and most vulnerable in our community.

“This is our opportunity to say thank you for the hard work the neonatal unit staff do each day.”

Gillian Hales, senior staff nurse, said: “We are extremely grateful and humbled that the club have decided to hold this football match to raise funds for our unit.

“Any new equipment would help us to enhance our already brilliant service.”
