Hospital League gives helping hand to emergency care

Scunthorpe Hospital League of Friends has purchased an Accuvein for the emergency department at Scunthorpe General Hospital.

The Accuvein AV400 is a device which allows hospital staff to shine a light onto a patient’s arm to help identify veins easily when giving injections.

Ward sister Nicole Seeley said: “The device is already making a massive difference to the department, helping us in both routine and life threatening situations. We are so grateful to the League of Friends, we can’t thank them enough.”

League of Friends treasurer Harold Edwards said: “This appears to be a very useful device and will save a lot of time and patient discomfort.”

The League of Friends works in partnership with Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust charity the Health Tree Foundation.
