Lions make ‘special’ donation to hospital

Tiny tots are standing tall thanks to a big-hearted donation from the Humberston Lions.

The group has donated a specialist chair and standing frame to the Child Development Centre (CDC) at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.

The Lions raised the money through their annual It’s a Knock Out competition last year which was held at Meridian Park, Cleethorpes. The Lions donated £4,400 to enable the hospital to purchase the specialist chair and standing frame.

Senior occupational therapist Louise Horn, who works in the CDC, said: “The seating and standing equipment will help support the posture of the children who we see on a weekly basis.”

Children’s physiotherapist Fiona Cave said: “Specialist equipment helps children who have difficulty supporting their own bodies. The chair and standing frame are mobile and will help the children to sit upright, move around, and to interact with their families and peers.”

Lion Clive Todd said: “It’s great that we’re able to donate this money to the centre and support the children with equipment they wouldn’t otherwise have.”

Our fantastic donors help us to help…
